BUFR ROOFING SYSTEMS

Multi-layer, tried and tested systems.

Built-up felt roofing (BUFR) is a traditional method of waterproofing that incorporates multiple layers of bituminous roofing felt. A typical system will consist of a vapour control layer, underlay and cap sheet and these layers are combined (built-up) with thermal insulation to create a durable and reliable waterproofing solution.

BUFR systems can offer a cost-effective waterproofing solution for many everyday projects. They are typically specified on refurbishment schemes and are a popular choice for buildings in the education, healthcare and commercial sectors.

The technology behind BUFR membranes has evolved with the times and today’s products incorporate polymer modified bitumen offering low temperature flexibility and high temperature stability. Many membranes also incorporate tough polyester or glass-fibre reinforcement, providing added strength and durability.
